The 5th Annual Race About Charlottetown will take place on Saturday, August 2nd, 2008!

Be prepared to "Outwit, Outlast, and Outplay" your opponents in PEI’s take on reality TV’s The Amazing Race and Survivor. This year’s race will give racers the option of competing in either the Corporate Division or the Open Division of the Race—each featuring fantastic prizes!

This year’s Race will include over $20,000 in prizes and more exciting and unique challenges so get set to put your smarts, speed, and stamina to the test against the clock and your opponents.

About the Race:
Race About Charlottetown is a fundraiser for the Kidney Foundation of Canada – PEI Branch. It is modeled from the reality TV shows “The Amazing Race” and “Survivor.” Teams will have to solve clues to lead them to the locations of various challenges spread throughout the city. The Race challenges participants both mentally and physically—speed alone will not win this Race!

A maximum of 100 two-person teams are able to participate in this event. Teams will be able to register in either the Corporate Division of the Race or the Open Division (see Rules for more details). Teams can win great prizes throughout the afternoon by competing in the individual challenges. After the afternoon challenges are completed, the first Corporate Team to cross the finish line will be awarded a fabulous prize package for 20 people! There will then be a BBQ for all participants, sponsors, and volunteers. The first six Open Teams to cross the finish line will then compete in a variety of final challenges in front of a live audience for the chance to win an exciting 12-day vacation to Costa Rica courtesy of Sears Travel and Trek Holidays!

To register, teams must pay or raise a minimum of $200 in pledges. The team that raises the most money in pledges will win a one-week Caribbean cruise for two with air from Halifax and sailing out of the Dominican Republic on the Thomson Destiny courtesy of Signature Vacations and Sears Travel!

Raising your money early can earn you a chance to win even more great prizes this year! For each increment of $200 raised over the registration fee, your team will earn one ballot for the wonderful weekly prize draws throughout July. Start fundraising soon for more chances to win.
